How to use the XCEED (MCP) and AI

Edited

Connect your XCEED account to AI assistants like Claude, ChatGPT or Gemini and manage your events just by typing what you need.

With the XCEED MCP you can ask your AI assistant to show you your upcoming events, check how your tickets are set up, creates events, floor plans or add-ons for you.

1. What the XCEED MCP is

The XCEED MCP is a connection between your XCEED Pro account and an AI assistant. It works with Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini and other AI platforms that support MCP connections. Once you connect them, your assistant can read your XCEED Pro data and, if you allow it, make changes for you.

You don't need any technical knowledge to use it. You write what you want in normal words, and your assistant takes care of the rest.

2. Before you start

  • You need an XCEED Pro account with organiser access to the company you want to manage. You can't see any information form other companies or venues

  •  No charge from XCEED: you'll need an AI assistant plan that supports connectors (Claude, ChatGPT or Gemini). Check section 3 to see which plans support connections. Most tests were done on Claude

  • The XCEED MCP link: https://mcp.xceed-services.me/mcp

  • You can use your desktop or mobile as long as you have the respective AI tool apps

  • No changes are made without your confirmation

  • You still have available to you the XCEED support team and your account manager

3. Connect the XCEED MCP to your AI assistant

Pick the platform you use and follow only that section.

3.1 Claude

You can use XCEED with any Claude plan. On the free plan you can only add one custom connector.

3.1.1 Add the connector

  1. Open Claude at claude.ai or in the desktop app.

  2. Go to Customize and click Connectors.

  3. Click the + button and select Add custom connector.

  4. In the name field, type XCEED.

  5. In the URL field, paste https://mcp.xceed-services.me/mcp

  6. Click Add.

3.1.2 Sign in with your XCEED account

  1. Click Connect next to the XCEED connector.

  2. A new window opens. Log in with the same email and password you use for XCEED Pro.

  3. Click Allow to give Claude access.

3.1.3 Turn on the connector in a chat

  1. Open a new chat.

  2. Click the + button at the bottom of the chat box.

  3. Select Connectors and make sure XCEED is switched on.

Connectors you add on claude.ai also work in the Claude mobile app.

3.2 ChatGPT

You need a paid ChatGPT plan (Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise or Edu). The free plan doesn't support connections. You also need to set it up on the ChatGPT website first, not the app.

3.2.1 Turn on developer mode

  1. Go to chatgpt.com and log in.

  2. Open Settings and click Apps & Connectors.

  3. Click Advanced and switch on Developer mode.

3.2.2 Add the connector

  1. In Apps & Connectors, click Create.

  2. In the name field, type XCEED.

  3. In the URL field, paste https://mcp.xceed-services.me/mcp

  4. If you're asked to choose how to sign in, select OAuth.

  5. Click Create.

3.2.3 Sign in with your XCEED account

  1. A new window opens. Log in with the same email and password you use for XCEED Pro.

  2. Click Allow to give ChatGPT access.

3.2.4 Turn on the connector in a chat

  1. Open a new chat.

  2. Click the + button at the bottom of the chat box.

  3. Select XCEED from the list.

3.3 Gemini

3.3.1 Add the connector

  1. Log in to Gemini Enterprise.

  2. Go to Connected apps and click Add MCP Server.

  3. In the name field, type XCEED.

  4. In the URL field, paste https://mcp.xceed-services.me/mcp

  5. Fill in the sign-in details.

  6. Save the connection and switch it on. New connections start switched off.

3.3.2 Sign in with your XCEED account

  1. When asked, log in with the same email and password you use for XCEED Pro.

  2. Click Allow to give Gemini access.

4. Use the XCEED MCP

These steps are the same on every platform. Check out more examples on what you can do under the tab "What you can ask" or here

4.1 Ask for information

Type your question like you would ask a colleague. For example:

  • "Show me my upcoming events."

  • "What tickets are on sale for [event name]?"

  • "Which add-ons are attached to the general admission ticket?"

4.2 Make changes

Tell your assistant exactly what you want to change and on which event. For example:

  • "Add a t-shirt add-on with sizes S, M, L and XL to the general admission ticket for [event name]. Each ticket holder picks one size."

  • "Remove the drink pack from the VIP ticket."

Your assistant checks what's already set up, makes the change, then shows you the result.

4.3 Approve each action

Before your assistant changes anything, it asks for your permission. Read what it's about to do and confirm only if it's correct. If something looks wrong, say no and explain what you want instead.

4.4 Check the result

After any change, open the event in XCEED Pro and check that everything looks the way you expect.

5. Tips for better results

  • Always include the event name, or paste the event link from XCEED Pro.

  • Ask for one change at a time.

  • If you're not sure what your assistant will do, ask it first: "Explain what you would change before doing it."

  • Try new setups on a test event before using them on a live one.

6. Troubleshooting

6.1 Your assistant can't find XCEED

Check that the XCEED connector is switched on in your chat (see section 3 for your platform).

6.2 You can't find the option to add a connector

Check that your plan supports connections. On ChatGPT, make sure Developer mode is on. If you use a company account, your admin may need to allow connectors first.

6.3 Your assistant says you don't have access

Make sure you're logged in with the XCEED account that has organiser access to that company. If you are, contact support@xceed.me.

6.4 The change doesn't show in XCEED Pro

Refresh the page. If it still doesn't show, ask your assistant to check the event again, or contact support@xceed.me.
